How Assessment Works

How Assessment Works

Recognition under the Qelvea Refined Finish Index™ (RFI) is based on real outcomes, not exams or theory.

We look at how work is planned, how it looks on the day, and how it wears over time.

What Applicants Submit

Applicants are asked to submit two simple things:

1. A short self-assessment form
This helps us understand how you approach refinement, wearability, and longevity in your work.

2. A small set of images
These show:

  • before the treatment
  • immediately after
  • how the result wears after time

Images are submitted for a few different clients to show consistency, not perfection.

Why Images Matter

Refinement can’t be judged from one photo.

By looking at how work wears over time, we can see:

  • whether structure was planned properly
  • how softness and flexibility were maintained
  • whether results remain wearable in real life

This gives a far clearer picture than certificates or training history alone.

What We’re Looking For

We are not looking for:

  • the boldest results
  • trend-driven styles
  • perfect symmetry

We assess:

  • balance
  • comfort
  • wearability
  • longevity readiness

In short, results that last well.

What Happens Next

An independent assessment compares your self-assessment with the submitted evidence.

You’ll then receive one of the following outcomes:

  • conformity granted
  • conditional conformity (clarification needed)
  • conformity deferred
  • conformity not granted

Recognition is time-limited and reviewed to protect the integrity of the standard.

A Fair, Proportionate Process

The RFI is designed to be:

  • clear
  • realistic
  • outcome-focused

No exams.
No live observation.
No unnecessary barriers.

Just evidence of consistent, refined work.

The Qelvea Refined Finish Index™

Because refinement shows over time.

In Plain English: How Proof Works

You submit:

  1. A form (the self-assessment + declarations)
  2. A small set of images showing your work over time

That’s it.

No exams.
No live observation.
No complicated portfolios.

What the Images Actually Are

Not just “nice photos” — but simple, clear proof.

You submit:

  • a before photo
  • an after photo
  • one follow-up photo (how it wore after time)

Youdo this for a few different clients (3–5).

This shows:

  • how you plan the result
  • how it looks on day one
  • how it wears in real life
