Verification

Qelvea Refined Finish Index™

This page explains how references to the Qelvea Refined Finish Index (RFI) can be verified and what such references do — and do not — mean.

Verification exists to support clarity, accuracy, and public understanding.

What Verification Means

Verification confirms whether:

  • an individual or studio holds current recognition under the RFI
  • any reference made is accurate, current, and within scope

Verification does not:

  • guarantee service outcomes
  • assess suitability for individual clients
  • imply endorsement, approval, or recommendation

The RFI is a private professional standard, not a regulatory scheme.

Current Verification Method

At this stage of the RFI’s development, verification is handled through Qelvea Standards records.

  • A public register is not yet live
  • No public listings are currently displayed
  • References to the RFI are controlled and limited

This approach ensures accuracy while the standard is established.

How Verification Will Work When the Register Is Live

Once introduced, the Public Register will allow users to:

  • confirm whether recognition is current
  • view the scope and level of accreditation
  • check the validity period

The register will be informational only and will not rank or recommend services.

Use of “Check Register” References

Where “Check Register” wording or badges are used:

  • they refer to verification against Qelvea Standards records
  • they are intended to prompt confirmation, not assumption
  • they do not imply a public directory is currently available

All such references are governed by Licensed Use Terms.

If You Are a Client or Member of the Public

If you see a reference to the RFI and wish to understand it:

  • ask the professional how their work is designed to wear over time
  • review this page to understand what accreditation represents

If a claim appears unclear or misleading, you may raise a query via the Contact page.

If You Are a Professional

Professionals referencing the RFI must:

  • hold current accreditation
  • use approved wording only
  • ensure references remain accurate and in-date

Unauthorised or misleading references may result in enforcement action.

Accuracy & Integrity

Verification supports:

  • fair use of the standard
  • protection of licensed users
  • prevention of misrepresentation
  • clear public understanding

All verification activity is handled proportionately and in accordance with published governance procedures.

Limitations

Verification under the RFI:

  • does not constitute regulation
  • does not replace professional judgement
  • reflects status at the time of confirmation only
