The Qelvea Refined Finish Index™

A private professional standard for assessing refinement, wearability, and longevity in lash and brow outcomes

The Qelvea Refined Finish Index™

Defining Refinement in Professional Beauty

The Qelvea Refined Finish Index™ (RFI) is a private, professional conformity framework created to define, assess, and protect refinement in lash and brow treatments.

Developed by Qelvea and administered through Qelvea Standards, the Index exists to move professional evaluation beyond trend-led results and toward outcomes that are wearable, balanced, and designed to last.

The RFI is not a training course, a style system, or a marketing badge.
It is a structured standard for assessing how results perform over time.

A Standards-Led Approach

The RFI prioritises:

  • refinement over intensity
  • consistency over isolated results
  • longevity over immediacy

It provides a shared professional language for quality — without dictating aesthetic preference.

The Role of Qelvea Standards

Qelvea Standards operates independently from service delivery and exists solely to administer, protect, and govern the Refined Finish Index™.

This separation ensures clarity, credibility, and impartiality.

2️⃣ Accreditation Overview

What the RFI Is — and Is Not

What the RFI Is

The Qelvea Refined Finish Index™ is:

  • a private, industry-led conformity framework
  • an outcome-based assessment system
  • a tool for evaluating refinement, wearability, and longevity readiness

Accreditation under the RFI reflects alignment with the published standard based on evidence submitted and independently assessed.

What the RFI Is Not

The RFI is not:

  • a statutory or regulatory authority
  • a government-approved certification
  • a guarantee of client outcomes
  • a replacement for licensing, insurance, or legal compliance

It does not prescribe trends, styles, or levels of drama.

What Accreditation Represents

Accreditation confirms that:

  • submitted evidence meets defined RFI criteria
  • outcomes demonstrate consistency and refinement
  • licensed use is granted under controlled terms

It does not imply superiority outside the scope of the standard.

3️⃣ Accreditation Levels

Recognising Degrees of Conformity

Purpose of Accreditation Levels

Accreditation Levels under the RFI recognise measured degrees of conformity with the standard.

They provide clarity without ranking aesthetics or commercial success.

RFI Conformant

Indicative Score: 80–84

Demonstrates clear alignment with the core principles of refinement, balance, wearability, and longevity readiness.

This level confirms baseline conformity with the standard.

RFI Advanced

Indicative Score: 85–89

Reflects sustained consistency across outcomes, with strong control of structure, softness, and long-term wear.

This level recognises advanced application of the standard.

RFI Signature

Indicative Score: 90+

Represents exceptional conformity with the full intent of the Refined Finish Index™.

Awarded selectively, this level reflects mastery of refined outcomes and consistency over time.

Important Notes

  • Levels reflect alignment, not status
  • Accreditation is time-limited and reviewed
  • Misuse or misrepresentation may result in withdrawal

4️⃣ Evidence Requirements

Simple, Outcome-Led Proof

What Applicants Submit

Applicants are required to submit:

  1. A short self-assessment form
  2. A small set of outcome images

There are no exams, live assessments, or training prerequisites.

Outcome Image Sets

Each case includes:

  • a before image
  • an immediate after image
  • a follow-up image showing how the result wears

Applicants typically submit 3–5 case sets per service type.

What Evidence Demonstrates

Evidence is used to assess:

  • structural planning
  • balance and symmetry management
  • softness and flexibility
  • real-life wearability
  • longevity readiness

Consistency matters more than perfection.

What Is Not Accepted

On their own, the following are not sufficient:

  • single “best” images
  • heavily edited photos
  • testimonials without outcomes
  • certificates unrelated to results

5️⃣ Assessment, Decision & Licensed Use

Clarity, Governance, and Trust

Independent Assessment

Submissions are reviewed independently against five RFI criteria:

  • Structural Harmony
  • Symmetry & Balance
  • Softness & Flexibility
  • Wearability
  • Longevity Readiness

Assessors make recommendations only.

Decision Authority

Final decisions are made by Qelvea Standards, ensuring:

  • consistency
  • impartiality
  • protection of the standard

Decisions may result in:

  • conformity granted
  • conditional conformity
  • deferral
  • non-grant

Licensed Use

Where accreditation is granted, licensed users may:

  • reference conformity with the RFI
  • use approved marks and wording
  • appear on the public register (where applicable)

Licensed use is:

  • non-transferable
  • time-limited
  • revocable

Renewal, Suspension & Withdrawal

Accreditation is reviewed periodically.

It may be suspended or withdrawn where:

  • evidence is misrepresented
  • licensed marks are misused
  • conduct brings the Index into disrepute

All references must cease immediately upon withdrawal.
